A periodic check-over and cleaning of your ductless system will keep it operating properly and could prevent loss of efficiency due to dust accumulation inside the indoor unit. The intake filters do retard the build-up of dust but we’ve found over time that minute particulate can collect inside. Most units will benefit from a periodic cleaning. Drain pans and lines also can be affected by dust particulate as well, and cleaning can help insure proper operation. Outdoor units are also subjected to dust and debris. This can accumulate on the fins and coils of the heat exchanger reducing efficiency and component life. Winter of 2010/11 was very tough, lots of snow. These pics show how you can get water into your oil tank.
Please be mindful to keep snow, ice and rain from getting into your vent pipe and always check to make sure
your cap is securely tightend on your fill pipe.
Also, remember to keep all of your flue pipes cleared after each storm and when clearing your roof.

FUEL TANK FAILURE: Could this happen to you?
If you have any concerns about your fuel tanks condition, do not delay preventative action, the following
is a recent news story out of Vermont.
BURLINGTON, Vt. — A nonprofit group that monitors toxic waste sites says most pollution comes from
small sources, such as homes and mom-and-pop stores, not big industrial Superfund sites.
The Toxics Action Center in January published a town-by-town list that identified 1,421 hazardous sites
in Vermont. It showed that 90 percent or more of them resulted from spills and leaks of gasoline,
kerosene and home heating oil at service stations, mom-and-pop stores, small businesses and
individual homes.
The Burlington Free Press says Mary Dillon of Richmond knows about those sites. In February, she
discovered her 275-gallon kerosene tank was empty — just three weeks after it had been filled. The
culprit: a tiny hole in the bottom of the tank. A four-week, $10,000 cleanup required excavation of 50
tons of frozen, contaminated dirt.
